making decisions

I've been struggling a little this round with what to do for The Pillow Talk Swap. Well, I finally picked some least I think so. I know my partner loves text I pulled some special ones just for her!! What do you these look good together. I'm not use to adding in a little black so I'm second guessing myself, but I think my partner might really like it.

My partner also really likes modern, so I'm hoping these also are modern enough??? Ack, I don't know!! Maybe I need to add in more black, and take out the pink?? I think this is one of the hardest parts for me, making decisions!! Would love your input!! :)

i ♥ granny!

Have you seen these lovely granny squares popping up all over blogland!?! I think I've pinned a half dozen of them in the last month!! I absolutely LOVE them!! So of course, it had to go to the top of my list!! Last week I started cutting all my squares... lots and lots of squares, like a bazillion!! Then this last week-end I started sewing some blocks together!

The granny square block is from Blue Elephant Stitches and she has a fabulous tutorial!! If you'd like to make some too, Old Red Barn Co. is having a quilt along that starts in March!! I can't wait to see other peoples versions!! I love how there are tons of possibilities!! For my quilt, I decided to go with Essex natural for the background instead of it is always fun to switch it up a bit. Though, I really do love it both ways!!

Here are some of the individual blocks!!
Aqua and White

Red and Yellow

Pink and Aqua

Red and White

Yellow and Blue

I really love this block!! I think it may be my favorite so far!! I'm a bit surprised as it isn't my normal favorite color combo!! ;)

Red and Aqua

So, I've done 12 so far, and have 8 more to go!! Whoo Hoo!! I would definitely advise cutting all your squares first, as I think it really helps with being able to put them together pretty quickly!

Hopefully I'll get the rest of the blocks done this week!! It has been hard to stop sewing them, as they are quite addicting!! :)

string of hearts

O.k. at this point I think I am a little obsessed!! But, how can I not... hearts, red, pink and aqua, birds and cute little buntings!! Just too much cuteness in one month!! This time I had to combine it all into a valentines pillow! The hearts and birds were inspired by these on pinterest!! I went a bit simpler but you get the idea.

String of Hearts...Pillow!

The hearts hanging from clothes pins!!

I just had to add some pretty pink pom poms which I also heart!! :) After putting my noel pillow away, I needed one that could replace it it for a little bit!!

I really love fun and quick projects!! Aren't the the best!!

This week-end I had the loveliest package arrive from Australia. Kylie sent them to me as it was much more expensive for me to buy them directly from the online she did the shopping and shipping for me!! :) Aren't they the cutest little tins!! I can't wait to put them to use!! THANKS so much Kylie!! I am so lucky to have the sweetest online friends!!

Happy Tuesday, my friends!!

PS. Make sure to come back later in the week as I'll be having a giveaway for a lovely dress from Shabby Apple!!

my heart sings for you!

Have you seen the adorable birdie quilts that Erin of Why Not Sew? has made!?! They are simply the sweetest!! On Monday she made a sweet valentines one, that totally inspired me!! I had to make one, and it couldn't just go on my list, I had to make one now!! Though I have a kazillion other wip's, they could wait!! :)

I did a version of her sweet valentines one but changed it up a bit so it could go above my piano. One thing about me, I heart music, and really have a special place in my heart for it... so a birdie quilt mixed with a music theme is what I went with.

A bit of a close up of the quilting. For the border I tried loops for the first time which was fun!!

My daughter instantly wanted a picture with it, as it matched her new panda sweater!! :)

In its new home above the piano!!

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!!
See ya next week!!
