a bird on a limb

I just finished my Bird on a Limb pillow for the Pillow Talk Swap, and just in time! Tomorrow is the deadline. Phew!! The embroidery is my absolute favorite part, just LOVE how it turned out, with a simple clean look. When I saw the pattern on Etsy I knew it was perfect for my partner, and it was a lot of fun to stitch. The Joel Dewberry fabrics were perfect and looks as though they were made to go together! It's kind of funny as even my hubby is having a hard time giving this one up! :)

For shop news, I will be setting my shop on Vacation mode today till July, 6th. We are going to take some much needed family time. :)

Castle Peeps just arrived and Heather is giving away a fat quarter set from my shop in the Cardinal Red and Royal Blue collections. Make sure to stop by to enter! I'll be listing it in my shop once we re-open in July! So keep a watch out.

oh, isn't it just so cute!!

See ya soon!

little red riding hood~ sweetly sitting on a spool!

Sweet Ariel did her magic again, and illustrated another amazingly adorable art piece for my soon to come website!! This time a Little Red Riding Hood, one of my all time favorite fairytale characters! This Little Red however, gets a little side tracked on her way to grandmothers house! She decides to take a break to do some sewing as she sits ever so sweetly on a vintage spool. She made sure to bring along some of her favorite red, aqua and pink fabrics that she had just purchased at Sew Deerly Loved, to make into a cute little project for her grandmother! :)

She will be available in my shop soon! Here she is on a white background. Hopefully she will be put on a pale pink background in the near future. :)

I think this will be a new favorite!! Can't wait to see it!! :)

Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday!

hexies!!

I've been so inspired lately by the wonderful hexies all my online friends have been creating!! Like here, here and here! I finally took the leap and gave them a try!! It was especially fun because my SIL, Tasha and I got to learn together!! While the kiddos played and the hubbies chatted there we were piecing away!! Since we both LOVE red and aqua and cutsie prints we also had fun pulling from each others stashes. :)

We used this fabulous tutorial and pattern from my sweet friend, Amy! Thanks for making it soo easy to learn Amy! Also, if you'd like to see some of the most amazing hexagons make sure to visit this group, and this group, of Heather and I's.

My first hexie stack!! Doesn't it look so yummy!!

I'm thinking of making a simple wall hanging and adding some embroidery! What would you do?

and a few more I added to the stack while at my sons hockey practice. Yippee, something new to keep my hands busy while out.

Hope you are having a fabulous day!
